On the Road again

We are officially moving on Wednesday! We decided to take advantage of our last weekend before school starts, so we are going to go home to visit our families for the weekend. Before I pack the computer I wanted to do some last minute blogging to get up-dated before our big move back to Utah.

Our ward here in California has been so wonderful. They welcomed us with open arms and were so helpful moving us in and bringing us meals and visiting us in the hospital when Brogan was born. Last week they threw us a going away party. It was BBQ at a members house. Jason and I really enjoyed ourselves, it felt like we were just hanging out with family. Thank you Downey 2nd ward! You're awesome! I wish I had pictures, but I forgot the camera. I hate it when I do that, you just can't recapture the moment.

That night we took Jason's friend from work to the Las Angelas temple. The weather was beautiful and the temple looked absolutely stunning at night.

We walked around the temple grounds with the sister missionaries. It was fun to hear the history and special architecture of that particular temple. We also went to the mission home and watched the Joseph Smith movie.

The Elder missionaries from our ward came with us too. This is Elder Tremblay with Sandra, Jason, me and Brogan.

Last night we took Brogan Swimming in our apartment complex pool. It was the first time we had been swimming there all summer...pretty sad considering it is right outside our door. Brogan loves bath-time so we figured he would enjoy it, even though the water was pretty cooled, he still liked it.

Our little surfer boy!

Well we should be blogging again within two weeks. So stay tuned...Hopefully we will have no major speed bumps while moving (such as our moving truck breaking down again)

Comfort Comforter

I think it is safe to say that every little child has a favorite blanket. I know I did growing up. My blankie started out as a queen size baby blue silk comforter. I dragged that big blanket everywhere. I loved the feel of the soft, silky, fabric. It was my comfort and a shield as I hid behind it to secretly suck my thumb. As I got older, my big wonderful blanket slowly got cut down (due to wear and tear) smaller and smaller until all I was left with was a 2x2 square. I still kept the square and I couldn't sleep without it.

This past week, Brogan has begun to appreciate blankets. He doesn't have a favorite one yet, but every time we put any blanket on him, he pulls it to his face and smiles. I can see the excitement on his face as soon as we place a blanket around him. Like me, he too loves the soft feeling of a cozy blanket on his face. When I am trying to put him to sleep, all I have to do is put a blanket touching his cheeks, and his eyes automatically close! So cute!

When Brogan was born, he was given four beautiful blankets from four different people that love him so much. He will have a hard time choosing which one will be his favorite.

This blanket was made with lots of love from his Grandma Quigley! It is a print with all different kinds of toys little boys love to play with! Thanks Grandma Q!

This blanket from his Grandma Hirschi which is extremely soft with a silk border. I even love to cuddle with it!

This beautiful quilt was made by my sister-in-law Joanne. She sure has a talent and love for making beautiful quilts. It is so modern and elegant. We will treasure it! Thanks Jo!

This baby blanket was hand made by my sister-in-law Amy. It was so beautiful in Brogan's blessing pictures.

Thank you to both Grandma's and Aunt's Joanne and Amy for all the time and love put into these blankets. I am sure Brogan will get good use out of all of them!

Hip Hip Hurray!

The summer is coming to an end which for us means that we are moving back to Provo. I am absolutely dreading the process of packing up and moving again considering we only moved here to Cali four months ago. I don't know what will be worse, moving being eight months pregnant or moving with a nursing three month baby. (My guess is this time around will be much easier! I have a lot more stamina now that I don't have a baby pushing on my diaphragm!)

Enough complaining! We are actually really excited to be back in Provo and closer to both of our families! These past couple of weeks have been so stressful trying to find an apartment in Provo. Jason and I looked on Craigs list and the BYU website every hour. As soon as we saw a new posting we would call only to find out that they had just rented out the apartment. Well we finally found an apartment! Hip Hip Hurray. It's funny how things work out. We thought that we found the "perfect" apartment about three times and got turned down every time. We were getting really worried because we are moving in two weeks, and we had no house to move to.....Finally yesterday Jason found an apartment on Craigs list, called right away, and we got it! Turns out that this apartment is just perfect for us. It is in the perfect location and it is the cheapest one that we have seen so far. My testimony grows more and more every day about the power of prayer. At first the Lord was just testing our patience, and then he blessed us with something much better than what we expected. I am so grateful for trials that test us, but in the end help us grow stronger.

I'm a big boy now!

I can't believe how much Brogan has grown lately. He looks like such a big boy now! We have the cutest little pair of shoes for him, and when he wears them, it looks like he can just get up and walk! I finally took him to his two month check up and we were surprised how much he weighs now. Jason and I were guessing how much we thought he was going to weigh.....My guess- 8 lbs. 12 ozs and Jason guessed 8 lbs. 13ozs.....the verdict: 11 lbs. 8 ozs. We were way off! Besides weighing more, Brogan's personality is really starting to shine. He is always smiling and cooing....it is the sweetest sound! His smile is absolutely priceless, but we can't seem to get it on camera no matter how hard we try. As soon as we get the camera out he gets stage fright. O well, we will try try again.

He is such a big boy with shoes on!

He is already in Mosiah.....!

Ok here is almost a smile....He loves bathtime!

Last weekend we went to the Hollywood walk of fame. It was fun to walk down Hollywood Blvd. and see all the stars on the side walk. We also went to Universal Studios (don't be jealous) we didn't actually go into Universal Studios, but we walked around city walk and looked at all the little stores there. We are moving in two weeks to Provo so Jason can go back to school, but this summer has been fun to live somewhere else and experience new things together.

Matt Damon's star...Jason and I are a huge fan after he did the Bourne movies!

Pretending like we went to Universal Studios
