Family Vacation Part 1

Our long anticipated, long planned family trip to Washington has come and gone. We had a wonderful time!

First stop was Othello, the town where Jason grew up. We stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Hirschi. It was so fun to see where Jason grew up and get to know his grandparents better. They are so sweet.

Next stop was Leavenworth,a tourist town that feels like you are in Germany....at least I think that is what Germany would feel like....that's what they were going for anyway. It was fun to walk around the shops....there was a cheese shop that had tons of imported cheese that was so YUMMY!

After spending a few hours in Leavenworth we went to Wanatchee to stay a night with Grandma and Grandpa Hart. Wenatchee is beautiful, we enjoyed our stay there.

After Wenatchee we drove to Anachortes where we drove our car onto a ferry and sailed to the San Juan Islands! We camped on Orcas Island for three nights! We had so much fun hiking, see bald eagles, searching for wales, eating dutch oven dinners and cobbler and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Driving onto the Ferry
On the Ferry
Brogan learned how to walk really well while we where on our trip. The rocking Ferry started out as a challenge, but now he walks like a pro.

Hiking up Mount Constitution. The view was amazing, you could see the other islands and a little bit of BC.

Playing on the lake right by our campsite. Brogan loved being in the boat with Jason.

Brogan was so good on our trip. He is such a trooper. He loved camping.

The weather was chilly the whole time we were on the Island, but we were lucky that it didn't rain more. It only rained the night before we left. We had to pack up our tent wet. O well....

The San Juan Islands were so awesome. I am so glad that we had this experience together.
Next stop : Seattle
More to come later....stay tuned.
